France: The 109 Book 2024 is available

Guide 109 2024

A successful autumn means a new book for Gault&Millau France. In addition to the regional guides published throughout the year, 109 is now available in bookshops from the beginning of September 2023. Here are the promises of this latest edition.

In the Gault&Millau family, I’d like 109 !” For the fourth year running, Gault&Millau France has brought out the new blood in French gastronomy: the 109. A new list of fine addresses that have been freshly (or almost) inaugurated over the past year.

What is the 109 book?

At Gault&Millau, we’re really lucky. Lucky to be able to find 109 new talents without any difficulty” introduces Stéphane Bréhier, editor-in-chief, on the very first pages. Thanks to the meticulous work of the investigators and their director Marc Esquerré, 109 new restaurants have made their debut in the Gault&Millau. They represent the new blood in French gastronomy. “Some are reinventing the country inn, others are revitalising city centres that have been neglected for too long, some are shaking up the habits of over-indulged Parisians, others are imagining tables for sharing…”. states the back cover.

The 109 Book 2023

From Alby-sur-Chéran to Vannes, via Lille, Paris and Saumur, the new gastronomic scene has been visited, rated and the portraits of their solo chefs, sometimes in duo, have been drawn up. It’s a great opportunity to highlight the people behind the culinary scene of today and tomorrow. You’ll be able to try out both comforting and unexpected pairings at their tables.

A guide to the best addresses, but not only…

If finding 109 chefs who have opened a new restaurant in France in 2023 was a fine challenge, Gault&Millau France has risen to an even greater and tastier one. Each chef’s portrait is accompanied by the restaurant’s signature recipe. Designed for four to six guests, they contain all the key information you need to get started: preparation, cooking and resting times. As a bonus, the level of difficulty is indicated so that epicurean readers can challenge themselves too.

This fourth edition of the youngest member of the yellow guide family was published on 7 September 2023 in all the best bookshops and is also available in the e-shop section of the website. Don’t hesitate to get your hands on it!
